Summer is filled with unforgettable foods, places, and things... here are some of my very favorite spots.

BOYLAN SODA

www.boylanbottling.com

This old fashioned soda is the original stuff and comes in all kinds of great flavors. Pack them for a picnic and wrap in aluminum foil to keep them cool (just as we did when we were kid's). The sugar-free root beer paired with sugar-free ice cream makes a great no-guilt summer treat.

FITZWILLIAM ANTIQUES SHOW
31ST ANNUAL
ANTIQUES SHOW AND SALE

Saturday July 21, 2007

Presented on the quaint New England common in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, this show has some of the finest country antiques I've ever seen. Look for tried and true blue country pieces like stoneware, early glass pieces, farm tables, and an array of smalls.

TUTTLE'S RED BARN

www.tuttlesredbarn.net

This beautiful farm (the oldest in the country) is always a destination on the way to the seacoast. Delicious baked goods, fresh produce, gourmet foods, pies, and more. Shop the garden center for plants, statuary and landscape ideas. Pack a picnic from their deli and don't miss the poppy seed muffins and pizza bagles.

LOAVES AND FISHES

I never miss a stop at Anna Pump's beloved takeout shop in the Hampton's. Always a line, always expensive, but worth the time and money... try the chicken or lobster salad for a real treat.

SHUPP'S GROVE

www.shuppsgrove.com

What a way to spend the day in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania... antiquing outdoors in the cool shade of the trees... there isn't another market like this with great finds all around and delicious food at the permanent concession stands. I was just there and found a beautiful glass cake stand, an alabaster lamp, and a pristine set of antique botanical prints.

Check out their site for shows and directions.

THE MAD HATTER ANTIQUES

Found this shop on a recent trip to visit my sister in Amish country. Large selection, amazing things and great prices... pink glass compote for $5.00 dollars (a gift to my trusty assistant, Lisa). Check out this store. It is one of the highlights of the area.

BEACH PLUM ICE CREAM STAND

I love visiting this ice cream stand. Great food, many ice cream flavors and right across the street from the beach. Jenny and I try to get there a couple times over the summer to have a quick bite and an ice cream cone to eat while walking the shore line. Take a trip on a sunny day. Google for directions.

COLD STONE CREAMERY

www.coldstonecreamery.com

I have to put in plenty of ice cream options for Jenny... she is an ice cream-aholic. Anyway, visit Cold Stone for the richest, most inventive ice creams of today.

Check out their site for a store near you. And yes, they have healthy ways to indulge.

HOUSE

www.houseinc.com

We are working on a great story right now featuring the beautiful fabrics from this California company. I can't say enough about the floral selections and amazing fabric choices... linen, poplin, patterns and stripes. Check out their Web site and imagine your home in all these special fabrics... rose covered cottage, anyone?
