PARKER HOUSE ROLLS

www.rhodesbread.com

I discovered these rolls just this year and had them with our Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone loved them prepared in the “Parker House Style”  (see directions on the back of the package). When I checked out their Web site, I found they carry many bread and pastry dough products and have a  plethora of great ideas. I haven’t tried any of them yet, so let me know if you have a chance and which products you liked best. If their other goods perform like the rolls, your holiday entertaining will be easy and delicious.

Even if you don’t purchase anything you will be enchanted by the building, the windows, and the lavish and beautiful objects on each and every floor. Don’t miss the basement filled with great fabrics, and check out the vintage ribbon on the first floor. Simply beautiful.

favorite seasonal catalog review

Besides the antiques shops and flea markets there are always inspiring catalogs that come right to the door. . . we thought each season we would share one of our favorites.

Winter 07/08  Williams-Sonoma Gift Catalog

www.williamssonoma.com

Each holiday season, Jenny and I clamor to the mailbox to see who will be the first to view the new catalogs. Amongst our favorites is  the Williams-Sonoma holiday issue. We both love finding those special, nostalgic gourmet food gifts that will be just the right surprise to open and savor on Christmas day. This year I received the catalog at my studio and was able to hide it from her before she could see it... believe me it is marvelous. It really has lots of delicious ways to shortcut all the preparations and focus on the presentation (just my kind of style). I'm ordering the Perfect Endings Cupcakes to tower on my glass cake stands for a Christmas eve party, and a Chocolate Almond Gateau to bring to a family gathering at my Mother's. Hope you can put a little Williams-Sonoma in your holiday this year, too!
