Fun on photoshop leads to some art that I actually like
I don’t fancy myself a traditional artist by any means, but over this past winter I spent some of my free time creating patterns to use for some of my download projects on the web site. I’ve been very happy with the results (you’ll see some of my designs in the upcoming fall website). With a trip to FedexKinkos I can have the finished pieces printed in large format and then wrapped over art canveses and stapled in place.
This piece that I titled GRAY FLOWERS is the perfect inspiration for a fabric and bedding collection or even a modern pattern on dinnerware. You will probably see it as a download for decoupage or some type of gift wrap and stationary next spring on matthewmeadstyle.com.
These puffy flowers were inspired by asters in my garden. I love the computer because I am able to instantly change the colors in my artwork… I often go for a very subtle shades… but a picture like this can be made much more fun and vibrant.
Here is the full and uncropped piece FLEURS FALL in autumn shades… as a large canvas it could be a marvelous focal point in a room.
An abstract piece I have titled PINK MEADOW is my rendition of the vintage format called “yard long” in which a long and narrow canvas (a yard long) is painted with pansies or roses.
Look for my art work woven into the web site in the coming months… and who knows, maybe see it in the marketplace as gift wrap, paper products, fabric, bedding and more. Off to pick blueberries. Matthew

Matthew,
I love the circles! I would like to recover the swivel barrel chairs in my living room with fabric printed with your art! How do you find the time? Love your photos of your herb garden…almost makes me want to cook something.
Take care,
Ki

Okay, so where do I find your art?? I love the coloured print of the asters…heavenly!!
Are you hinting at what I think you are? To have a line of anything designed by you is great news!! PLEASE, just make sure we can access it in Canada!! We Canadians sometimes get left out in the cold…
Enjoying your blog!
