The light is changing already, and I’ve already seen the first signs of changing leaves.
Is it me or is fall coming on strong? No, not just at Michael’s and Home Goods, but even in the cool air at night and the quality of the light. As I write this, it is 8 p.m. and already it is getting dark outside. We’ve had a great deal of rain and gray weather, so my mind has turned to things like roasting and baking. Good thing, because we are hard at work on the fall Web site and roasting vegetables is a big part of it. Here is a sneak peak to get you in the mood for Squash and Sweet Potato Salad with Pine Nuts
Jenny and I are off on an adventure shoot… working for Wegman’s www.wegmans.com in Rochester, NY. It is an amazing gourmet food superstore with the most unbelievable quality ingredients. I visited there last Thursday to meet with the Creative department and learn all about their brand.
I asked if I could do a mini-tour of the store for my blog and they said, “YES”… so stand by for that.
In the meantime, leave me some comments about your favorite things to do during fall, and maybe we’ll include them on the Web site.
Here is a piece of art I created today… I call it SATURDAY and will likely use it as part of a paper wall collage with some of its counterparts in similar shades. See, even my art is moving in the direction of autumn colors. Matthew

Oh, I have been longing for Fall and was just telling a friend that today. I have smelled Fall in the air a time or two so far!

In the fall I like to walk. In the morning, afternoon, evening, at midnight…it doesn’t matter. I just love bundling up, grabbing my dog and spending a half an hour strolling, smelling, admiring the fall foliage and feeling the chill of the fog.
I also try and spend a few minutes each evening curled up in front of an open window with a blanket, design magazine, my cat and a hot drink. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the season.

Fall is my favorite time of year..I can’t get enough of.the fall colors. I love to go to pumpkin patches like the ones in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains near Placerville, Califorina, I hope to go to Vermont this year and see the real fall colors!! I make pumpkin crisps, pumpkin cookies and most of all pumpkin pies with lots of fresh whipped cream, We Invite friends over and I make my most favorite Elysian Bisque (carrot soup by Tom Green) and serve it with a warm loaf of fresh bread, I love to decorate the outside of my home with dried cornstalks, pumpkins and cute homemade scarecrows (using old overalls stuffed with newspapers). Then to top off the end of October celebrating Halloween!! I love it…with even more decor, yummy food, creating costumes and hosting creepy parties! Oooh I can’t wait to get my hands on your new Halloween book….you always have the coolest ideas!!

Oh, yes, Fall is on the way. The constellation Orion, a winter constellation, has appeared in the morning sky.
