My friend Debbie Diffley has an amazing store with lots of great treasures… Jenny and I made a trek there this past weekend to find some inspiration… you’ll want to go too.
Here is the sign out in front of the shop. The building is a great old Victorian with all kinds of treasures displayed in the front yard.
I always find something to buy in the display areas dotting the yard and the three bays in the barn turned into mini shops. This place is magical because you get that great “look what I discovered and uncovered” feeling as you poke through each and every nook.
I often leave the front yard for last because I love all the garden and patio pieces left outside to get the beautiful natural patina. Now be careful when you see the place as stopping so quickly for such amazing stuff can cause traffic accidents.
You might just see some of these items in our outdoor features in a 2009 Country Home.
Jenny fell in love with this pig. Our large collection of garden ornaments at home mean’t we had to leave him for another luck gardener. He seemed happy with that and I know with his enchanting face that he will go to a great home.
I didn’t take any pics inside “The White Home” but there is room after room of amazing finds. Debbie has great dealers and also a creative eye for all types of furnishings, dishes, textiles, decorative accessories and more.
This area right near the parking lot is like a charming cottage yard with potted ferns, garden furniture and the most amazing painted and patinaed wooden furniture. There are so many inspiring vignettes that you feel like you are inside a photo shoot.
Visit The White Home Collection, say “Hi” to Debbie and tell her I sent you over to shop. She has the friendliest staff and you’ll have one of the best treasure hunts possible.
Check out my cliffhanger on the Halloween book in my next blog. Matthew

I live in North Central Massachusetts and my children go to an independent school in P’boro and I’ve stopped in White House Collections on my way down 101 - I also like Consignment Corner in Vinal Square in North Chelmsford.

I am a dealer and a customer at White Home. I travel from massachusetts to go there, and love it. Debbie is very personable and out going which attracts alot of customers. She has a very unique shop . Victorian and shabby chic are the new and upcoming style which is what you will find at White home.

White Home is a really nice store.Debbie, the owner, is a lovely person. She is so helpful to her customers. She always helps carry furniture to your car and is so personable. The only drawback to the shop is that they are not willing to deal on their prices. Most shops will give 10% dealer or decorator discounts, or give customers a percentage off, if they buy alot of big items. In the present ecomony it would be nice if they did. Also, I checked out Consignment Corner in North Chelmsford. (took Debs advice). They seem to have alot of yard sale china, glass and nick nacks…although there is one dealer there that has alot of nice white furniture…but be prepared to bring help for any heavy purchases as the man who works there always has a “bad back”

Dot…. Yes yes yes… I know the place and I know the man with the “bad back” he is also the parking lot “cop” … He yelled at me cause I did not park enough and it was like 5 minutes to closing time…. Give me a break.. Yes yes they have nice white furniture BUT.. it is very expensive … But . I had to comment on the Parking lot “cop”… And yes the White house has some very very nice items.. and would be a great idea to at least give 10% off if you buy $100 or more… Wouldn’t it??? See you there Dot… Jim

Took my dad here last weekend and was very impressed. Antiques shopping is big on our agenda, as my dad recently moved here from Virginia and just loves anything with a history, and that seems to help with his AD. My dad was responsible for renovating half of Alexandria’s Old Town district, and in some ways White Home reminded me of the rambling old southern shops and flea markets that my dad used to take my me and my sister to on our many and varied excursions. I picked up the wool summer cottage blanket hanging out in the back carriage house area. I’m anticipating getting it back from the cleaners… so I can throw it on my bed and let the cats love it to death like every other bedspread I’ve ever had! *sigh*
Frustrated designer (in a past life!) with cats.

I LOVE this place! I live about 1 hour northwest of there, thank God, because would go broke if I lived closer! The most fabulous collection of unique and vintage items I have ever seen in one shop. It’s so much fun to explore, and I never leave empty handed. -Mary
