Please send me your comments to get another MATTHEW MEAD magazine off the ground.
I NEED YOUR COMMENTS… ITS TRUE. You all have such a big say in what we do next for a magazine title. Its to late for Holiday 08′ and too soon for Halloween 09′, so what would you like to in Spring/Summer 09′. Send me your comments and I will pass them directly on to the publisher to get the conversations going. So fill up this space with comments. The more feedback, the better.

#1 request–PLEASE, please, PLEASE do a Christmas magazine for 2009!
Hmm, for Spring…what about and Everyday theme? Easy gifts to make & give year ’round.
September 17th, 2008 at 8:07 am

you can decorate from Memorial day thru Labor day.
For Me , I could decorate all year this way!
thanks…

Would love to see Easter covered by you. It is such a lovely time of year - everything pastel and pretty!! Oh and Christmas 2009 is a must. Thank you
September 17th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
I miss more daily stuff. Big holidays are fun, but once a year! Do things that you (we) can do every day to look your house more alive. Spring flowers are fun and you have such a variety of choices. You can use tea- or coffe-time. Show us how to surprise guests with design for simple ritual.
September 17th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Hands down, I think we need a monthly…I don’t think anyone would dispute that!
Of course, the next best thing would be quarterly issues for each season. Then, you could address all the holidays, and the best of each season as it is experienced everyday. We need more exterior decorating ideas; party ideas ( Easter egg hunts and picnics for spring; birthdays, wedding, and Memorial Day parties for summer; pumpkin carving, fall harvest parties for Fall; sledding, ice-skating, winter solstice, and of course holiday parties for winter); vignette styling tips, and more of your great recipes!
You certainly can’t stop now…WE, the people, Want. More. Magazines!!!
Please??
September 17th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
I think Linda couldn’t have said it better. Not much more to add. Monthly would be the ultimate, or like she said quarterly addressing the holidays. For spring I would like to see a lot of outdoor decorating and outdoor entertaining for barbeques, picnics, outdoor wedding decor, graduation open houses, garden parties . . .
Thanks for asking our input!
September 17th, 2008 at 6:33 pm
I also think a quarterly magazine would be great!
I would love to see a Easter/Spring magazine ( you could even include new babies/showers)
Also a Magazine all about Valentine’s Day would be cool too.
Paul
September 17th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
Please create a magazine for birthday parties/favors/all year gift items.
Easter and general holidays like Valentines day and 4th of July would be nice as well.
Thanks.
September 17th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Hi Matthew,
I met with you at the Junk Bonanza. Your book is fabulous! I agree with Kristina above, birthday parties/favors/year round gift items would be fabulous.
I talked with you about my sweet and sinister blog. Please email me at artsy_mama@hotmail.com so that I can send you an invite.
Thanks!
Kari

How about doing a magazine covering different types of entertaining with table decorations, activities and food ideas. The ideas could be for any time of the year and geared for a variety of types of gatherings - informal backyard bbq, afternoon tea, formal dinner, children’s party, family reunions etc.
Christmas 2009 is a must.
When my children were younger I loved magazines that featured parties, cakes, crafts and activities that I could use with them.
You are very talented at creating vignettes and a magazine that was about decorating from things found in nature to help us create some of those lovely vignettes for our homes would be wonderful. How about one that was inspired by the colour palettes found across North America - ocean, forest, prairies, mountain, arctic.
Thanks,
Blueberry
September 18th, 2008 at 1:25 am
I enjoy doing small things in my home to change it. I love the way you can create vignettes that relate a mood. Yes, I would love things to do with decorating that welcome all and create a “flavor”. Can’t wait to return home to get your Halloween magazine. I hope I find it at the airport.
September 18th, 2008 at 8:11 am
i would be thrilled to see a monthly publication from you…..but until then i’d love to see your take on summer beachy styles
always a treat to see your creations!
September 18th, 2008 at 8:31 am
What about a Mardi Gras inspired magazine issue? Somthing different. Just think of all the great party masks, decorations, and don’t get me started on the table setting..metallics and tasty cajun recipes! Those are my thoughts.
September 18th, 2008 at 9:05 am
i have to agree, quarterly issues would be awesome!
how about ideas for valentine’s day for us singles to celebrate with other single friends? and st. patrick’s day, easter, something with a spanish flair -like cinco de mayo and mother’s day for spring?
thank you for all your fantastic ideas and looking forward to your next issue!
September 19th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Something that I strive to do in my everyday life is to celebrate life’s special moments. As one commenter already mentioned, the big holidays are great - but life is full of smaller moments waiting to be captured.
This is something that I work very hard at in my home. We celebrate the first day of each season with special meals and activities. I have tried to be creative in planning Family Nights each week for my family, etc…
I think of it as creating special memories of togetherness for my family and friends - and love seeing new ideas of ways to make these times beautiful and memorable.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:40 am
I just stumbled upon your Halloween magazine in a craft store and HAD to have it. You have wonderful classic ideas, simple and just adorable. I have been looking on your website and would love to see a magazine on birthday parties, favors, cakes, cookies, crafts for children.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Definitely an everyday theme would be best…making mundane things special. Of course, things that happen everyday and to everyone are: birthdays, teacher gifts, neighbor treats, sharing things with friends, etc. Keep up the good work!
September 20th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Please do a quarterly that shows the hunt and transformation of treasures and how to organize!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
I love the magazine Romantic Homes, your style would fit right in. Autumn and Halloween are my fav….. and you have already covered that….my hat is off to You!!! Keep up the good work. Come visit my store next time you and jenny are in town.!
September 21st, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Hi!! I was SO disappointed to have missed you at Junk Bonanza!
I kept swinging by the table on Thurs. but must have kept missing you when you were shopping! So sad. … I would personally love to see an Outdoor Entertaining/Projects issue for spring/summer. Filled with cool projects to put in your outside spaces, block party/birthday/neighborhood parade ideas, dinner party & tea lunches, table settings, gift ideas using things from the garden, invitation ideas, etc. Can you tell I like this topic?
THis could actually be spread for all seasons if you really wanted, with bonfire party for autumn, and cool snowmen decorating & crafts for winter, etc. Decorating porches…
Thanks for your fun inspiration! I love reading your ideas in Country Home, and seeing you on HGTV!
Blessings,
Stacey

As a mother of two children, I would love more creative ideas for children’s birthday parties. It’s something that could be set during any time of the year.
You’re halloween book was so incredibly creative and had so many ideas that kids would enjoy - I’m certain you would have some fabulous ideas for children’s birthday parties. There aren’t enough great ideas out there that haven’t been done before or tailor to the same old themes…
and yes, I believe that a Christmas 2009 issue is in high demand. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas.
September 22nd, 2008 at 5:49 pm
What a nice invitation to help with ideas for your magazine, thanks for asking for ideas. While I love to go all out for special holidays etc, what I find the most challenging is coming up with ideas for plain everyday life. Simple, cost efficient ways to make my home more inviting to my family and friends on a every day basis. Creative ideas for decor and recipes for casual get togethers with friends/family that would make a special occasion of just being together for no particular reason. Recipes you can throw together with items in the pantry etc.
Or ideas for when you have limited notice for those type of entertaining opportunities, what can you reuse, repurpose, assemble in a limited time with items found in a average american home?
Birthdays are also a struggle as the children and family gets older to come up with new ideas for decor, gift ideas, wrapping, and the typical birthday cake/meal. I especially struggle with the male side of things on how to make it memorable without being too frivolous or overboard.
I enjoy your simple style and entertaining ideas for all the major holidays as well. Whatever you do will be terrific I am sure. Best of luck for all your future endeavors.
September 28th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
PLEASE…Please do a Christmas issue!!
October 2nd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
How about a camping theme…Matthew Mead style:)
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:43 pm
I found your new magazine while in Wal-Mart today. Although I am pretty “with it” when it comes to subjects like this, I have never heard of you! I love your Halloween publication and would love to see LOTS more from you! I have two very young sons and would love to see publications on everyday, holiday, special, etc. traditions, things to do, etc…………A monthly magazine would be wonderful!
October 3rd, 2008 at 3:25 am
Hi Matthew
I love your new Hallowe’en magazine! It’s just fantastic.
I would subscribe to a monthly Matthew Mead magazine (great alliteration!) in a flash!
I would love to see you do something on gardens and indoor/outdoor living . . . really sweet cottage-y gardens. Maybe you could go to England for “research”!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity.
October 5th, 2008 at 10:24 pm
I am here following Linda at The Restyled Home’s instruction.
First of all, you are very inspiring.
Secondly, if I could suggest a book it would be either a Christmas book or gifts and gift wrapping.
Thanks for your consideration.
Dee
October 5th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Came by way of Restyled Home and I would also subscribe in a heartbeat, either monthly or quarterly. Christmas 09 would be great, I will be in a new house by then and will want to update the decorations for sure!
October 6th, 2008 at 6:13 am
I am here because of Linda! I love all your pictures with the ideas on the blogs. So wonderful. I would love to see a book of American ideas. Red White and Blue. It could cover all three summer holidays perfectly.
October 6th, 2008 at 6:17 am
Hi Matthew: Firstly, I have to let you know that I have been “turned on” to you by Linda at Restyled Home. Although I am an avid magazine collector, I did not, until a few months ago, purchase your magazine. When I started to pick up copies, of course I became addicted. I LOVE Christmas and everything leading up to the big day and without saying would love to see a Christmas 09 magazine….however I find Christmas (and Fall) decorating easy ad it is Spring/Summer that I find challenging. I would love to see a quarterly issue to cover each season. P.S. I do not know Linda personally. We do live in the same town however I think she would be a great asset if you ever decided to add her to your team!!! What do you think? Thanks for all the great ideas and inspiration.
October 6th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Hi Matthew, Linda at Restyled Home directed me here. I just love your simple and do-able ideas. I think a quarterly mag would be great. Like many others have stated, I love celebrating every day. Keep doing what you do best, like showcase those little extra touches that say “I appreciate beauty and style, and enjoy making friends and family feel special”, because they’re worth it. I love gracious and simple living best. I also love to see what people do with their thrifted finds.
October 6th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Linda sent me! I would love to see Matthew do a book on using ‘found’ objects for decorating inspiration and/or vintage family heirlooms to set the theme for an occasion!
October 6th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Linda MacDonald from Restyled Home sent me. I would love to see Matthew do a book on entertaining from other countries especially sweets. I lived in Australia and loved all the different types of cookies, pastries and cakes such as lamingtons and pavlovas. When I visited Quebec I fell in love with french macaroons. I live in Texas now and friends have been delighted with the “new” sweets that I have introduced them to.
October 6th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Linda sent me too!!
I would love a quarterly magazine, would definitely subscribe to that. Halloween is my favorite time for fun, family decorating and the Halloween magazine is chock full of great ideas. But I think I would love to see a Christmas magazine, it is the most festive time to decorate and entertain.
October 6th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
Linda sent me too, I would love to see a quarterly magazine, or one with frugal but not cheap looking ideas for everyday.
October 6th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
Hi! Linda @ Restyled Home directed me here. I definitely would like to see a Christmas issue, but for Spring/Summer ‘09, how about porches, decks, containers, etc. I think that would be fun!
October 6th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
A MONTHLY! At the very least a new Christmas issue…Can’t wait to get my hands on the new book.
October 6th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Linda sent me over to tell you a magazine I would enjoy. I think one with simple entertaining ideas, like entertaining through the holidays, on a budget, last minute, meals to prepare ahead of time.
Thanks for the chance to win

I really enjoyed the Christmas issue from a year or two ago. How about another Christmas or maybe quarterly issues to celebrate the seasons. I am already enjoying the Halloween issue tremendously!
October 7th, 2008 at 12:07 am
I was reading Restyled Home and I am thinking it would be great to tap your great mind to perhaps do something like ‘entertainment on a shoestring’. It would be so appropriate for the current economic situation.
October 7th, 2008 at 8:26 am
So very glad I found you—-big thanks to Linda at Restyled for the referral! I agree with many others that a monthly is exactly what we need. I do like the idea of focusing on the every-day decorating. Also, thanks to my teenage daughter and her friends, I am acutely aware that teenagers these days are much more designer savvy - they want cool, eclectic rooms that reflect their interests…..however, there are very few resources for that demographic. Thank you for inspiring us.
October 7th, 2008 at 9:42 am
Came here via Restyled Home. What fun! I’d like to Amen the Americana idea. And what about a picnic theme for spring and summer?
October 7th, 2008 at 9:57 am
How about simple birthday party ideas for older children (teens)?
Thanks!

October 7th, 2008 at 9:58 am
PS Restyled Home sent me over! Addicted already!

I was sent here by Restyled Home.

October 7th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Linda from Restyled Home referred me to your site. Saw you briefly at Junk Bonanza. Thanks for visiting Minnesota for this event!
I echo some of the other requests. I’d love to see a current Christmas issue with a variety of decor styles for the Holidays. Include vintage/junk, beach theme, traditional, funky, etc.
I’d also love to see an issue relating to Beach Style Decorating, Frugal Decor ideas, and Gift Pkg. for all seasons/events.
Thanks for your consideration.
October 7th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
Michael - I love your Halloween issue! I popped over here from Linda’s Restyled Home. It is clear that everything you put together is an inspiration. Sign me up for all of them! I’m always checking the stands for your next creation - I was really hoping for a Christmas issue!!
October 7th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
I found you via Linda at Restyled Home.
What a wonderful site you have.
I love all the fabulous ideas that you have.
What i’d love to see is something to do with the Holidays and or perhaps with children.
October 7th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
Oh boy this is just way too hard, I can’t decide between monthly or Christmas, I would love anything by Matthew Mead, Oh my he is just the very best
I would love to be included in your contest, please, please please I hope I win
deezie
PS I was sent here by Restyled Home, love her too
Happy Day!!!
October 7th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
I learned about you from the Restyled Home blog and I love your simple down to earth ideas. Really, I’m torn about what I’d like to see you do next. My inital thought was Christmas, but as I was thinking about it, I’d like to see a magazine focusing on making family celebrations more special. Those family celebrations could include anniversaries and birthdays as well as first day of school and winning the spelling bee.
I’m glad I’ve discovered you Matthew and I look forward to more great publications!!!
October 7th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
I would love to see ideas for the “little” holidays, like Arbor Day or Ground Hogs day, ways to make everyday special. Why wait for the big holidays before we celebrate today?
October 7th, 2008 at 11:49 pm
I, too, blog-hopped from Restyled Home. =) I think a New Year’s Eve issue would be cool. I also like the suggestion above of an Easter issue. I would really love to see an eco-chic issue.
Thank you for the fun Hallowe’en downloads!
October 8th, 2008 at 6:34 am
Another traveler from Restyled Home here! I have to agree with those who have said give us every day ideas. I can usually find resources and ideas for most holidays or come up with something on my own, it’s the every day ideas that I wish there was more of.
October 8th, 2008 at 8:46 am
Matthew, I love your work! I think it would be great to see a magazine of ideas for casual summer parties, including using the gardens’ bounty to its greatest potential! I’ve been trying to entertain and focus on the natural without coming across too hippie, and it’s a struggle!
I arrived here from Restyled Home.
October 8th, 2008 at 9:02 am
I would love to see a Christmas issue for sure-and as others have said monthly or at least quarterly would be excellent!! Love the Halloween issue-beautiful & do-able ideas! Linda from http://restyledhome.blogspot.com/ sent me over to comment. Thanks!
October 8th, 2008 at 9:59 am
I would love something on homemade gifts for all ages and both genders. Birthdays and Christmas are so stressful for us, not only thinking up gifts, but also the cost involved in buying them.
One thing about a Christmas magazine is that there are already so many people publishing ideas that the market isn’t void of them, if you know what I mean. Valerie’s comment suggested “little” holidays and that’s a cute idea I think.
Can you come up with a way to make homeschooling cute? The paper mess is driving me nuts! I’d like to somehow decorate up the room we use too.
I’m sorry for the random ideas! I’m typing as I think.
~ Lani
P.S. I found you through Linda’s beautiful Restyled Home blog.
October 8th, 2008 at 10:30 am
I agree with others, a monthly publications would be wonderful!
(I found you through “Restyled Home”.)
October 8th, 2008 at 11:54 am
I’m sure that I would love any magazine that you do!!! But how about a magazine on how to make any day a little more special.
(BTW, I’m here from Restyled Home)
October 8th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
I would love to see a Christmas or Summer Entertaining magazine.
( I found you through Restyled Home)
October 8th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Linda @ Restyled Home sent me here! I love your Halloween issue! I’m a new fan! I would love to see a baby issue, featuring beautiful, affordable nurseries and kids rooms plus ideas for doing it yourself! A christmas issue would be amazing! Your spin on decorating is refreshing and doable!
October 8th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
I was sent here through Restyled Home. I, too, would love to see a Christmas issue–and possibly Thanksgiving!!
October 8th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
I think a special issue around entertaining with and for children would be wonderful.
October 8th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
Hmm….I would like to see more organizing integrated with everyday pretty things and life- We all strive to acheive calm and order in our homes, but it is a constant battle….trying to make it a little more “pretty” of a battle would be nice (oh and a bit of frugality mixed in too!)
October 8th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
Matthew,
I would love to see magazine on the “dog days of summer” or one that was “ sunny days and breeze nights.” That way you can tell us all about the new decorating ideas for inside the house, the new colors for spring & summer, outside décor, patio décor, things with the whole family in mind including the family dog. Tell us how to have the best backyard picnic to a beautiful family wedding. Give us the recipe for the best chocolate ice cream, tell us how to make sweet tea or better yet raspberry tea with a twist. Can’t you see decorating for the family reunion under the oak tree, using sheet on the table and flowers out of the field and your white plates. Tell us about handing down the family heirlooms and how to enjoy them in our homes decor and not leave them stuck in the closet in a box because you afraid they might get broke, but how to enjoy each thing in your home and how to build memories. Tell us the average consumer how to make your house look great and not break the bank! Tell us your secrets!!! How to shop, decorate and the easy recipes. Your new magazine could celebrate the family that’s what a home is all about anyway, bringing family together through celebration! And we as women strive to make our home the best it can be and I can use all the help you can give us in the décor department. I surely hope I have left my comment in the right place for Linda@ Restyled Home giveaway, this is a first for me. But if I have not I hope you will consider my comments and hope you have lots of fun in doing your new magazine!
God Bless You!

October 8th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Read about you on Restyled Home this morning, went out and found the magazine and read the whole thing during the children’s naptime!!
I would love to see a magazine with simple children’s parties…I feel like I go way overboard and stress myself out over their birthday parties!
Thanks–
Carrie
October 9th, 2008 at 6:13 am
i came from restyled home and I’d love to see simple children’s birthday parties - themed. Ones that work for multi-ages.
October 9th, 2008 at 6:29 am
I love your work!!! I came over from Linda’s blog at Restyled Home. I want to see a spring entertaining / decorating magazine that incorporates the indoor outdoor lifestyle that we have all become accustomed to. Lots of fresh flowers, incorporating vintage / rustic spring decor ideas, fantastic table ideas, sp/sum party theme ideas, summer guestrooms, leisurely brunch ideas…vacation in the home.! I don’t want you to stick to one theme, say Americana or outdoor bbq, we need a taste of it all, filled with ideas that incorporate modern, traditional, vintage,… we are eclectic people, your readers!!! Thanks!
October 9th, 2008 at 8:49 am
With your gift for making special occasions accessible to those of us with nominal or average idea banks and skills (!), two magazines I would love to see are Christmas 2009 and maybe a Spring/Summer/Wedding ideas magazine (many of these ideas could be interchangeable).
Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this wonderful new book!
Blessings,
Michelle
October 9th, 2008 at 8:50 am
Also from Restyled Home… I would love to see an outdoor/patio/garden decorating and entertaining magazine. Everyone longs to go outdoors once the signs of spring begin to appear. How about showing us outdoor rooms, outdoor decorating, and easy recipes and party themes ofr an outdoor event?
October 9th, 2008 at 8:51 am
Ack! I just posted above and forgot to mention that I came here via “Restyled Home”!
Thanks so much!
Blessings,
