I’ve decided color is my coping mechanism.
Okay, so “paint the town red” must have come from someone that just lost their job or found out they were in for a long, cold, gray winter. Well, look out!!! I am working on my spring website which all about color and how to use it in your life.
I found this antique book on color at my favorite vintage book store and it has inspired me to find all of the most colorful items in my collections. I’ve been working feverishly on the new site which will be up after valentine’s day… lots of beautiful and colorful ideas that make you want to sit up and sing.
This old gardening book had the most beautifully preserved color chart… its from the 30’s and look how alive the colors are… it lifts my spirits so I am looking for a little (and a lot) of that.
Here is a preview of some of the collectibles on the upcoming site. How lucky am I to uncover such bright and inspiring shades in my collections.
Tell me you don’t already feel better once viewing these luminous objects.
Write me and give me your feelings on the now defunct Country Home Magazine and what your favorite color is at the moment. And worry not about me… the oppurtunities are bountiful.

Matthew, I was very disturbed and saddened to hear about Country Home. It has been my favorite magazine for years, and could not believe they would ever discontinue it. I know some say the internet is the wave of the future, but there’s something about rummaging through the pages of a magazine that a computer cannot fill.
You are a very talented person, Matthew, and I know the your future will be bright in whatever you do. Looking forward to seeing what that might be and I for one will definitely be following it. God’s blessings.

PS My new favorite color at the moment (besides the neutrals I’m obsessed with) would be tangerine. Think Spring!

Matthew:
Thank you for celebrating color! I like white on white on white….but come on, color is hope - color is what makes this world smile.
I await the bluebird’s return this spring - and when that flash of color appears in the farm yard - it will bring tears to my eyes. And, I will delight when the goats finally find green grass again. And the sunrise & sunset - colors that make me swoon. Color does stir our every emotion…
Yes, we indeed live in a time of change - things we always counted on are ending. So, we re-define, re-connect, re-imagine…and some how, some where - we find our way again.
Thanks for all you have done - and all you will continue to do to inspire our lives,
Kari

So sad about country home!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with! My favorite is green. All shades, all varieties, but right now a nice, light spring green.

I started reading Country Home because of YOU. I’m soooo sad.
